Entice Your Child to Learn Qur’an

Asalaam ‘Alaikum,

I was browsing another sister’s blog today and found an excellent idea that I want to share with you. I have been having problems (on and off) in keeping my oldest daughter interested in learning Qur’an. Lately we’ve been having quite a few problems with her somehow remembering it wrong and then she can’t get the “wrong” version out of her head. It has been a bit frustrating for her – but she still does love Qur’an, alhumdulilah.

Anyway – I think this is something I will try with my daughter – I think it is an excellent way to visually reward your child for memorizing the Qur’an. It’s not really a “reward” but a way for them to visualize their achievement and desire to learn more (at least that’s what I believe).

    Assalaamu ‘alaikum.

I remember when teaching at a local madrasah we used a Qur`aan tree for the girls. It’s a tree which has three huge branches for the last three juz of the Qur`aan and each branch had the name of sooraat in that juz. When a soorah had been memorised the name of it would be coloured in.

It was a great visual way to see how much had been memorised mashaa`Allaah and I even used one for myself! **smiles**

This, however, is a great idea mashaa`Allaah.
